NipeX (Nigerian Petroleum Exchange) is an electronic one-stop transaction centre that enhances efficient, value‑focused procurement in the oil and gas industry and institutionalizes world-class contracting processes in Nigeria.NipeX was created by the Nigerian oil and gas industry and is funded and governed by a Steering Committee (SteerCo) composed of key industry players.
NipeX is an electronic contracting platform. It is a virtual community and collaborative environment that delivers significant value to all Stakeholders in the Nigerian Upstream Oil and Gas Industry. It links Buyers and Suppliers by establishing industry-wide standards for business transactions, and provides a comprehensive suite of capabilities, which includes a platform for showcasing contract opportunities.
Kindly be informed that Vendor Categorization has now been fully implemented on the
NipeX platform. This initiative is aimed at improving vendor quality, enhancing transparency,
and optimizing the overall contracting cycle.

In view of this, all suppliers are required to immediately note the following:
📌 1. All Product/Service Codes must be properly categorized under the approved Vendor Category rankings (A–D).

👤 2. Suppliers are strongly advised to review their profiles on the NJQS platform and ensure that all their registered product codes are correctly categorized.
⚠️ 3. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in exclusion from vendor sourcing lists and tender opportunities on relevant bid invitations.

📧 4. Notifications have already been sent to All Suppliers/Vendors requiring categorization updates. Suppliers who are yet to comply are advised to respond promptly to the emails received, as failure to do so may lead to missing out on relevant bid invitations.
✅ This exercise is critical to ensuring accurate vendor matching during sourcing and improving fairness and efficiency in the tendering process.
